Special Features

Thunderstruck II features 5 reels, 3 rows and 243 paylines. The maximum bet is usually $15, although there are a few casinos that have raised their maximum bet to $30 back in 2012. The slot symbols all surround the Norse mythology theme, featuring the gods themselves, Olympus, and other related symbols. The game has many bonus features including scatters, unlockable bonuses, wilds, expanding wilds, four different free spin rounds and up to 6x multipliers.

The wild symbol acts as a multiplier, offering the highest fixed jackpot on Thunderstruck II at 1,000 coins. Luckily there is no need to bid the maximum bet in order to stand a chance to win the jackpot.

Wildstorm Feature

The game has many wonderful features, providing players with a fun and exciting gambling experience. The Wildstorm Feature which is completely random and will appear in the middle of a spin, giving you a free spin with up to 5 expanding wild reels. Usually it is only 1 or 2 but it does have the potential for 5 reels.

Free spins

The biggest attraction of Thunderstruck II is possibly the The Great Hall of Free Spins. The more times you enter The Great Hall, the more spin features you unlock. Another great extra feature is as you win with different symbols, you unlock achievements. While unlocking more and more symbols, your paytable will slowly turn gold – with the goal of getting a full gold paytable.

The four free spin bonuses you can unlock in The Great Hall are each associated with one of the Nordic gods. Valkyrie Free Spin Bonus will give you 15 free spins where all your winnings will be multiplied by 5. After Valkyrie, there is the Loki Free Spin Bonus, which will give you 15 free spins, as well as turn random symbols on the reels into extra wilds for bigger wins. The third spin bonus is the Odin Free Spin Bonus where you will receive 20 free spins with the chance of receiving multipliers of up to 6x. Finally, the Thor Free Spin Bonus will reward you with 25 free spins with rolling reels that causes winning symbols to disappear, and new symbols to appear, resulting in extra wins. Consecutive wins will cause the multiplier to continue rising and increasing your wins.

Our Take

Thunderstruck II is a huge improvement on its’ predecessor. With better graphics, more paylines and more recognizable characters – Thunderstruck II is a much-loved slots game. We love the fact that it is conveniently available on so many platforms for either instant play or to download. Just be sure to have a strong internet connection when playing Thunderstruck II and that the jackpots aren’t huge.

With such a large range of bonus features and wonderful graphics, you will not regret playing Thunderstruck II at your favourite Microgaming casino.
